The good scientist of the CIA. Humanistic psychologist. Was tricked by the agency into entering a psychological research program for universities. In reality, it was just another front for them to conduct their mind-control experiments on. Had huge regrets on the outcome of Lisette's mental state under Project MKULTRA. Was highly influential in bringing her back on track, and helping her to become a field agent on her own terms.

Lisette's father and Colonel of the US Army. Was a Major in WWII, promoted to Lieutenant Colonel during the Korean War, and is now a full-bird Colonel. Served as a Psychological Operations officer in the service. Basically did top-secret work. Highly regarded in Washington, D.C., due to his classified actions, and caught the attention of the CIA because of it. He put Lisette into the Project MKULTRA program, even though he knew its true intentions. Didn't regret a thing until the very end, when he saw what happened to his daughter under the program.

Chief of the CIA's clandestine New York City field office location. The spymaster of the ensemble responsible for creating the Colombera & Florentine spy rings. He's part of the board of directors for the CIA-fronted Human Ecology Fund for so-called 'psychological research'. However, he does less research these days, and more theoretical applications of his findings via his spy handling. A 'shrink to the stars', he's become something of a celebrity psychiatrist in Hollywood and NYC. Also has a history with Carmen dating back to the early Cold War days in occupied Vienna, and a very strained relationship with her.

Gestalt psychologist and founder of Gestalt therapy. Never was directly involved in any of the CIA's mind-control research. Only became involved by proxy, thanks to his colleague, Dr. Carl Rogers. He had Carmen referred to him by Rogers due to a better match in therapist-client relations, although Dr. von Brandt insisted that he himself be the one to see Carmen instead, despite ethical boundaries.

Lisette's mother and board-certified music therapist. Worked at the prestigious Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and was part of their music therapy research programme. Was duped by both her husband and their CIA recruiter into joining the Project MKULTRA program. Highly believed that what she was doing for her daughter was for the best, and had a nervous breakdown when she saw what really happened under Dr. Gottlieb's supervision.
